| Frequently Asked Questions |
| When can I bring items in for consignment? |
Wear it again, Sam Inc. takes new consignments weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm. We quickly make our selections and give you back what doesn’t work for us. You may look around the store while we choose items. |
| What kinds of items do you take? |
We’re looking for brand name items in excellent condition, freshly laundered and purchased NEW very recently. Rummage sale leftovers will be declined. |
| How much do I get for my items? |
You will receive 40% of the basic consignment price for items that sell in the 60-day contract period. We strive to take items that will sell quickly within the time frame. |
| When can I get money that is owed to me? |
We print checks every business day. Your share of sold items posts to your account within 24 hours. You may pick up a check on any business day or let your account balance build. You may also use money that Sam owes you to purchase items in the store. |
| When do you switch seasons? |
We switch to spring in January and to fall in July. Those months we’re finishing up the seasonal clearance sales. Then go to summer in February and winter in August. |
| What happens to my clothes after the 60 days? |
Exactly what is done with items that don’t live up to our expectations varies by season, clearance value or supply and demand. We may continue to offer them for sale, put them on a sidewalk sale or donate them to charity. We continually revise our acceptance standards to follow sales trends. |
| Who sets the prices for items? |
Sam’s staff does. We price items based upon supply and demand, season, brand, condition and what the market will bear. All items are tracked by a sophisticated data-base which is analyzed continually. If you make more money, we make more money. |
| Why not just pay cash for items? |
We find consigning a mutually beneficial arrangement. Consignors share the bounty as demand drives prices up and share the risks if an item doesn’t sell or must be clearance priced. Cash outright stores buy an item for as little as they can and sell it for as much as they can. |
